Motorcycle Repair: battery light, poor conductivity, system checks

Question
my rectifier on my laverda as mine litterally melted. since renewing and putting it on the bike originally the battery was as dead as can be, after fully chargeing and testing the battery on start up and then whilst running, it was showing it only dropped 3 on start and was charging whilst running, i took the bike for a long ride, no problems, however the next day i started her up and the battery light was on, took for a ride and it stayed on, for fear of the same thing happening, ie rectifier melting i came home turned her straight off and checked all connections, all seems ok tho and battery is charging.
now i dont know what to do,
thanks for your help

Answer
Hi Steve,

I suspect a loose or corroded connection is causing poor conductivity. I would need to perform a few system checks to locate the source of the problem.
