can the starter make the engine nuo run?it turns over then disengages.and the few times it turns over it wont start.one more thing.where is the starter located? thank youi

Hi David.

To the best of my knowledge, a starter will not cause a bike to not run.  If the bike is not running, then the problem is most likely with the ignition fuse, ignition circuit, the coils themselves, the ignition wires, or power to the ignition circuit.

There is also a likelyhood that you could need an overdue tune-up (timing, valve adjustment, carb synch, etc.).  Has this problem been building?  If not, then it is electrically related.  If it has been building, then it could be an issue with the tune-up.

Start by checking those things and let me know what you find.
