Answer
Hi Brian,

Q-1:  "I HAVE AN 84 VT700 THAT IS NOT CHARGING.SOME ONE TOLD ME TO UNPLUGE THE STATOR TO SEE IF IT SHUTS DOWN AN IT DID. WOULD YOU SAY IT COULD BE THE R/R."

A:  Not necessarily. Perform an output test and test each component of the charging system. Verify which part is defective, if any before replacing expensive parts.

I recommend you get a copy of the service manual and learn about troubleshooting problems with your VT700.

Visit "www.electrosport.com" and follow their "Fault Finding Chart" to help diagnose electrical problems.

Q-2:  "THE NEXT PROBLEM IS THE CLUTCH.IT KEEP LOSING PRIME AT THE MASTERCYCLINDER.WOULD IT NEED TO BE REBUILD."

A:  You'll have to check the hydraulic system for evidence of fluid leaks. If none, consider buying a rebuild kit for the master cylinder.
