Motorcycle Repair: 1976 FLH stalling problem, unpredictable occurrence, gas tanks

Question
I have a 1976 FLH with the original Keihin carb on it and my problem is this. For some reason every now and then I'll be riding along and it will die on me as if I ran out of gas. I pull off the road, wait a minuet or two and then it starts back up and runs fine agin, and this is an unpredictable occurrence as it can happen 5 minuets into my ride or some times an hour and some times not at all. I have replaced gas filters countless times. New petcock, sealed the inside of the gas tanks, and have taken the carb apart cleaned it and inspected it to see if something was setup wrong. as far as I can tell every thing looks good, yet the problem continues. As for any mods. I had a slightly larger cam installed and the carb jetted a few years ago and then installed an electronic ignition and stronger coil to match.  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Answer
First, the next time it happens pull a spark plug and see if your getting a spark. If not then you are either having a coil problem or ignition problem. If you are then check your fuel flow. Your float might be sticking. Also check your fuel line. It might be getting vapor locked if to close to the cylinder
Good luck and happy riding.
