Motorcycle Repair: buell cams and timing, intake manifold, buell

Question
I have a 99 Buell X1, I put new cams in, almost stock. Rev it up, and it pops when you let off the throttle. Tried to ajust the timing, but no deference in the popping. wonder if cams are installed correctly. thanks for any help. Jeff

Answer
If you had installed the cams wrong or were off a tooth your bike would run like crap.
I would check the intake manifold for a leak. You can check it by starting the bike and let it warm up. Then spray a little carb cleaner around the manifold. If the RPMs go up then you have a leak nad you need to change the gaskets. If this doesnt help let me know.
