Motorcycle Repair: Winterizing a Motorcycle, petcock, gas tank

Hi Mike,
 I have a 1978 KZ1000A.  I was wondering what is the process that I should do in order to winterize my bike so I will have the least amount of problems next spring?

First, get a battery tender. That will keep your battery charged and fresh all winter. Next, change the fluids and fillt he gas tank to the top and put some stablelizer in it. Start the bike and let it warm up and then shut the petcock off. This will drain the carb. You should be good to go then.
