Motorcycle Repair: Runs, dies and wont restart until hours later, heritage classic, odd noises

I went out the next day and started it and kept it running, now it was like nothing was wrong. It is running fine and not stalling, it even has started the first time right away. I don't know what was going on.

Question -
I have a Heritage Classic, I havent had it out in about a couple of months and now when I start it, it may run for a few minutes then dies. It is then impossible to get to start but does turn over the whole time. Can you give me a direction or two to go in, to find the problem. When running it sounds good, no odd noises, even when it dies, not sputtering out.
Answer -
pull a spark plug after it dies and see if its getting any spark and let me know.

Sounds like you either have a short in the ignition system or a ignition that is getting ready to go out. Unless the bike is not running you will not be able the find the short, but you can check all the connections to make sure they are tight. As to the ignition, same thing. Unless its not running you cannot check it.
