Motorcycle Repair: Hot Light, suzuki vs800 intruder, bill silver

Question
I know you specialize in Honda but maybe you can help with my Suzuki VS800 Intruder, 2002. My water temp light came on and won't go off, even when it is cold. It is full of fluid and the electric fan is working. The light comes on when you turn the key on and it stays on all the time. It started when I developed a miss in the front cylinder. It only has 1900 miles on it. I changed spark plugs but it didn't help the miss. I ended up having to remove the carb adjustment plugs and adjusting the carbs. It runs great now but the temp light is still on.Any ideas?
Thanks.

Answer
Tony, check with http://www.migcruisers.com/ for help.

A light is triggered by a switch... perhaps the switch is faulty. Find the wires going to the sender/switch and disconnect it, then test the switch. Either the switch is normally closed or normally open... find out which is the correct state.

Be sure that the radiator is full, not just the reservior tank....
