Motorcycle Repair: transmission slipage or clutch adjustment, clutch adjustment, twin cam 88

Question
While crusing along when I open the throttle the
engine revs up but the bike does not move out.
I also have some problems with the shifter getting
stuck sometimes. Also the clutch won't engage until
the grip is let out entirely.

I have a new Red Hoarse bike with a twin cam 88
harley engine and s&s carb. Only have 550 miles on
it. I did have extension forward gears installed
by the dealer and a 50 mile check-up. I don't
remember if these problems stated after I had the
extended forward gears put on because I only drove
the bike up to 50mph while breaking in. I think
it might be clutch adjustment?

Thanks

Answer
Your slipping is fromt he clutch being to tight and needs adjusted. As to the shifter getting stuck, sounds like an adjustment problem. I would returnt he bike and have it looked at. If the clutch keeps slipping you will wear out the clutch plates.
Good luck and happy riding
