Motorcycle Repair: Tail Light, honda ct110, head lamps

Question
I own a 1982 Honda CT110 and am installing a tail light. I have connected both wires coming out of the tail light into the bike and have managed to get it to light up when the brakes are pressed. To get the motorcycle street legal the tail light must be light whenever head lamps are. What am I doing wrong to have the light off only until I press the brakes?

Answer
Hi Sean,

I suspect the Brown and Green/Yellow wires are the only wires you have connected. If all three wires are connected properly, ispect the circuit for defects, damaged or loose connections, etc...

To make the light work as a brake and tail light, you'll need to include the Green ground wire to the new light's metal bulb base or socket or otherwise ground the fixture.
