Motorcycle Repair: gsrx600v 1997, auto safety hotline, highway traffic safety

im getting a gsxr 600 v 1997 in a few days and a friend told me they had a recall on suzuki,s for that year because they had timing chain problems is that correct and if so is there any documentation that i can take to the dealer to get it done, ive looked at other models ie gsxr 750 1997 and they have a sticker on the right side next to the head stem on the frame to say that it was renewed is this so on the one im getting or didnt that model have that problem                                                          confused      NIGEL

Summary:   
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORCYCLES. THE GASKET BETWEEN THE FUEL TANK AND THE FUEL PUMP MOUNTING PLATE CAN LOSE ITS ABILITY TO PROVIDE A TIGHT SEAL, ALLOWING FUEL TO DRIP FROM THE GASKET.  

Consequence:   
IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, FUEL LEAKAGE CAN RESULT IN A FIRE.  

Remedy:   
DEALERS WILL INSTALL A REDESIGNED FUEL PUMP GASKET ON THESE MOTORCYCLES.

OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JUNE 29, 1998. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR MOTORCYCLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT SUZUKI AT 1-800-255-2550.
