Motorcycle Repair: Honda CB100N, honda cb100n, haynes manual

Question
Hi Mark,

Hope you can help out with a query. I have a CB100N, 1986 model, Engine number CB100NE 1028797, Frame number CB1001027753. The engine is not the original one, I bought the bike as a rolling chassis and then sourced the engine separately.

The alternator fitted to the engine only has two wires coming from the stator whereas the Haynes manual shows there should be three. The wiring block on the main loom has three connectors to accept three wires from the alternator, white, pink and yellow in colour.

The two wires from the stator are dark red and dark yellow in colour with a heavy duty fabric type binding.

Have you come across this set up before? If so, how would I connect the wiring up?

Thanks for any light you may be able to shed on this problem.

Best regards.

Gordon
