Motorcycle Repair: idle rpms, rinehart pipes, system charges

Question
i ride a 1996 flhtci-fuel injection. How do i adjust idle speed and how do i check to see if charging system charges ok?I have constant low idle about 600-700rpms although the bike runs fine.i wonder if my battery charges when idling in such low rpms. The engine is complte stock and i added a doherty machine air intake/filter along with a new ecm and power commander.i also have a set of rinehart pipes on that since i installed my idle rpms have dropped.I can use any advice.THANKS.

Answer
To check to see if your bike is charging, start the bike and with a volt meter take a reading at the battery. When you rev the bike you should get around 12.5 to 13 volts. You are not going to get this however at that low of a idle.
To adjust the idle, remove the air cover and air filter. Close to the center you will see a small screw. Turn it to increase the idle. Once you have gotten it set you will have to disconnect the battery for around 10 minutes for the EMC to accept the settings.
Good luck and happy riding
