Motorcycle Repair: Charging problem, altenator, check battery

My bike won't charge,it's a custom cb 650 honda.I've cleaned everything,no burnt wires.The white wire and black wire going into the stator both have power on them,should both wires be hot?Everytime I ride this bike I have to recharge to go again.

Hi Zeke,

Get a copy of the service manual.

Check battery voltage and specific gravity of each battery cell. Charge or replace the battery as necessary.

To verify that the charging system is working, test the output voltage of the altenator.

Perform other troubleshooting tests as described in the manual as necessary.
