Motorcycle Repair: 96 kawasaki oil pump, kawasaki vulcan, clutch assembly

Question
I have a 1996 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500D Classic. My bike just all of a sudden lost all power.I pulled the clutch assembly off to check the oil gear because a friend of mine told me that this type of bike has a problem with the gear.Sure enough the gear was stripped clean of all cogs.
My Question is,Do I hav any for of recourse because I have checked with the dealers around here and there is nothing they either can do or will do.
 Please help...Thank You...

Answer
Hi Jesse,

Try contacting Kawasaki directly and inquire about the problem. Advise them of the lack of assistance from local dealers.

The defective gear should be a warranty repair (in my opinion).
