Motorcycle Repair: 1984 V65 Magna Turn Signal Relay, honda v65 magna, 1984 honda v65 magna

Question
-------------------------
The part I got from my Honda dealer is a small black square box with a 3-prong receptacle.  It is not a round canister.  Do I have the wrong part?

Bill,
I have a 1984 Honda v65 Magna.  I ordered a turn signal relay and I cannot locate the bad one to replace.  I have removed the seat, side covers and battery.  My Clymers manual does not appear to be accurate in locating it.  Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Steve

check the model  VF1100C and then BATTERY FUEL PUMP  you will see the round canister there, normally close to the starter solenoid.

Answer
Honda supersedes parts from time to time, so if you got it from the dealer, it should be correct, just a different shape nowadays.

Sometimes, generic auto parts flashers will work depending on the number of terminals. Yours should be connected with a black (hot wire) and probably gray wire (to turn signal switch), w/wo a green ground. I don't have any wiring diagrams for that machine.
