Motorcycle Repair: Idle...., kawaski, car engines

Question
I have recently restarted my 1984 kawaski GPz750.  The bike runs ok sometimes and sometimes it is very moody.  The idle is not constant it can go from 800rpm to almost zero. It is very strange. And when the bike gets hot it just shuts off, not idling when you let off the thorttle. the engine will turn over but won't start.  I think this is all related to the idle problem.  Could it be the coils? I am very confused. It is much easier to work on car engines :D
thank you

Hi Rahul,

"....I have recently restarted my 1984 kawaski GPz750..."

Was the MC stored awhile and just returned to service?

Can you provide a detailed history of repairs, problems, and modifications made to your MC?

Provide an email address as requested. I return tech information by email.
