Motorcycle Repair: Yamaha radian clutch, friction plates, mechanical aptitude

Question
I have a 1986 600 radian, and at high RPM the clutch is slipping. I adjusted the clutch cable but it is still slipping. I have ordered new friction plates and springs. How much trouble is involved in replacing these parts and how do i go about doing it? Any help would be great. Thanks
Mike

Answer
Hi Mike,

Replace clutch fiber plates, metal plates and springs as a set.

The task of replacing the clutch plates is easy, though I don't know your mechanical aptitude. You may find the task difficult.

I recommend you get a copy of the service manual to learn the procedure of servicing the clutch. The manual will pay for itself with the first repair or maintenance you perform.

I return tech information files via email. There was no email with your question as requested.
