Motorcycle Repair: Transmission, e mail address, float bowls

Question
I have an 81 Suzuki 650 GS, it starts but will not rev above 6,000 rpm with throttle fully open.  When I shift into 1st gear and let the throttle open, the revs decline and it stalls.  I just took it out of the garage after the winter, the battery was charged but I did not drain the gas after last year and I think I forgot to put in a stabilizer.  I have the repair manual.  My e-mail address is thowalsh@state.pa.us.  Thank You

Hi Tom,

The fuel left in the float bowls has likely varnished. If so, the carburetors will need partially disassembled and thoroughly cleaned to restore proper performance.
