Motorcycle Repair: rebuilding old bike, old bike, gaskets

Question
I have a bike that has been sitting on my side yard for seven years, I am wondering what are some common problems I should take care of and check out in order to get my old bike up-and-running?

Answer
Sitting that long in the elements does alot of damage to bikes. You will probably have to rebuild the motor and trans for a start, due to bearings getting rusty and gaskets leaking. the carb is probably plugged up, and battery is bad.
You never said what the bike is or how old it is, but if its worth anything then you might want to consider tearing it down to the frame and reworking the bike.
Good luck and happy riding
