Motorcycle Repair: vstar 1100 baffle removal, exhaust pipes, stock exhaust

simple question, how do you remove the baffles from a 2001 vstar 1100 stock exhaust pipes?  thanks

I usually answer questions on harleys, but I might be able to help. There are several ways that baffles are installed. One is an external bolt. Look around the muffler for a bolt to remove. the other way is that they are welded. You have to take a long screwdriver and hammer and break the weld to get it out.
One thing to remember, You need some back pressure on the exhaust or you will lose power at lowend and midrange, so removing the baffles will hurt you. The other thing is, removing the baffles will lean the bike out and you would need to get it rejetted.
