Motorcycle Repair: Sprocket, left hand thread, loc tite

Question
Tried to remove counter sprocket on my 95 gixxer,
could not budge it.Is it a left hand thread or is a tough son of a gun to get off.Is thread compound used(loctite)used with nylon lock nut?
Thank you for your input.

Answer
Hi Jerry,

Normal thread design/rotation. Are you using a air impact tool? If not, do so. Someone may have applied Loc-Tite on threads.

FYI... gearing ratio is 3:1 meaning: make sprocket changes in incriments of three points rear, one point front. Otherwise, changes have no effect.

Replace chain and both sprockets as a set. Otherwise, old parts will quickly wear new parts.
