Motorcycle Repair: Honda Nighthawk, motorcycle salvage yards, drive motorcycle

Hello. I was given a 1985 650 Nighthawk and need to replace the engine in it. I was wondering if it was compatible with any other years, models, or sizes. Thanks for your help. Britt

Britt, not a lot of choices for that shaft-drive engine combo... there were 550s, the 650 and there is a chance that the CB700SC will drop into the chassis.

Later CB750 Nighthawks are similar engine configuration, but are chain drive, rather than shaft drive. Motorcycle salvage yards may have some interchange information...
