Motorcycle Repair: Intruder 800, intruder 800, clutch lever

Question
Hi Mark,
Have a 2002 Intruder 800 that took a fall.  Left footpeg and clutch lever bent.  Does the whole foot peg assembly plate have to come off or with loosening, will it drop down enough to reach screw behind peg?  Also, to replace clutch lever, will I have to drain the master cylinder?
Clymer manual not real specific.  Thank you very much.

Answer
Hi Mike,

I haven't done an Intruder's forward controls in quite a while. I cannot visualize the assembly of the 2002 model. Try loosening the assy. first and see if you can access the fasteners.

It's not necessary to drain the master cylinder to replace lever.

And to think Clymer manuals are more thorough than Haynes manuals. Factory manuals are best, but cost a bit more.
