Motorcycle Repair: Sporster misses, dyna jet, accelleration

I have a 1996 XL883 Hugger Sporster which seems to miss or cut out badly during hard accelleration.  Doesn't seem to miss if I just accellerate normally.  This is new this spring.  I ran the tank out and put new gas in.  What should I check and/or adjustnext?

When you hard accelerate, the pump on your carb should cut in to giv the bike more gas. I would suppect that your pumper is plugged and needs cleaned. While you have the carb off, I wouls suggest the you ad a Dyna-jet kit to the carb. It is somthing you can do yourself in a couple of hours. Has great directions. It will give you more throttle responce.
