Answer
Hi Alvin,

Q:  What are the functions or difference between the Pulse Generator and the Stator/Alternator of the Honda XR250R?

A:  Pulsar coils (pick-up coils) generate a signal when trigger wheels pass by the coil's contacts. The signal is sent to the CDI or ECM (engine control module), and then to the ignition coils to produce an arc at the spark plugs.

The alternator produces A.C. electricity for the vehicle. The regulator/rectifier converts A.C. current into D.C. current and maintains a regulated operating voltage for system circuits. The pick-up coils are part of the ignition system. Altenator is part of the charging system.

Q:  What is the importance of each in an RFVC engine?

A:  I see it as Honda's latest engine technology, or in my opinion, their latest marketing ideas.

Respectfully,
