Motorcycle Repair: excessive vibration -Evolution engind, kuryakyn hypercharger, excessive vibration

Question
Dear Mike: I have a composite Harley which is primarily a 1991 Fatboy (EVO motor and tranny) on a Midwestern Frame (2003).  Everything else is pretty much stock with the exception of a Kuryakyn Hypercharger added on.  I really enjoy the bike; however, it has what I believe to be excessive vibration.  After driving a newer HD with a Twin88B motor, I really realized how much mine vibrates.  Is this just an EVO thing, or is there something I can do to help reduce the vibration?  Some have suggested adjusting the timing, or looking into a balancing kit if available.  Any suggestions that you have would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Answer
I would venture to say that your Midwestern Frame is probably a solid mounted style frame and that is where you are getting your vibration. Your picking up the vibration from the motor. Its not a EVO thing, but a harley thing. On a solid mounted frame they will vibrate!
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
