Motorcycle Repair: CB350 coils, motorcycle shops, bill silver

Is there a way to test coils with a multi-meter and if so how or what would the specs be ? Specifically on vintage 350's

Jim, use an ohm meter and check from the black lead to the blue or yellow leads..(primary windings). Should be around 4-5 ohms, which is about standard with coils that are triggered by points and condensers. Otherwise, many motorcycle shops can put the coils on a tester and simulate the ignition system, so the spark can be checked under load.
