Motorcycle Repair: removing a cylinder head, camshaft lobes, flywheel alignment

Question
I have a honda cm91, I need to remove the head to get it repaired. I have both side covers off, ive removed the bolts on the cam srocket, im wondering how to take the cam chain off. do I have to remove the flywheel? because I dont have a puller.any help on this would be great.

Thanks Steve

Answer
Spin the camshaft around so the lobes are down away from the rockers and slide the camshaft out of the sprocket. Once the sprocket is loose, you can use a little probe to lift the chain off the sprocket and the head will come off if you removed the bolt that holds the head and cyl together. Reassemble in the reverse order.

Be sure to put the piston at the TDC position with the flywheel alignment at T mark when you install the camshaft, lobes towards the piston. If you need to change the camchain you will have to get a flywheel puller from a m/c shop.
