Motorcycle Repair: Cleaning gas tank using kreeme, radiator shop, new tank

Question
I purchased a 1993 CBR600 and it ran for about a week. I took it to a mechanic and he cleaned the carbs. It ran for about another week.  I took it back and it would not run at all.  He said I needed to clean the gas tank with kreeme or get a new tank.  I bought kreeme and am in the process of emptying the tank.  I removed the petcock and drained as much gas as possible.  There is still gas in the tank. Any suggestions on how to get out all the gas?  Also, once I start the kreeme process, do I leave the petcock off or put it back on?  Do I need to clean the carbs after the kreeme process is done?

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Answer
I have a better suggestion for you than the Kreem. Take your tank to a radiator shop who also does gas tanks. They will clean the inside of the tank and put in a industrial liner int eh tank to solve the rusting problem.
Personnaly, I do not like the Kreem. The tank have to be perfectially clean for it to stick and I have over time seen it come loose and float int he tank. If you are planning on using it, get as much gas out as you can and let the rest dry up. Leave the petcock out when using it or it will plug up. If the carbs are claean already, you do not have to reclean them
Good luck and happy riding
