Motorcycle Repair: Sportster Cams, proper lubrication, tdc mark

Question
Mike, I have reinstalled the cams after locating top dead center with all dots aligned.  Now when I try to start the bike the motor turns over very slowly with a fully charged battery.  The motor is barely turning over. Could this be a lack of proper lubrication on the cams?  Could it be that I did'nt find top dead center as I had thought or didn't properly align the cams?  Thanks for your help.

I have a 95 Sportster and all 4 camshafts are removed from the gearcase.  I'm not sure how to determine where top dead center is so that I can re-install the cams with their timing marks / dots all alligned.
Answer -
To locate TDC, first have the rear wheel off the ground and the spark plugs removed. Put the bike in 5th gear. Rotate the wheel, in the direction that it turns, until you see the front intake pushrod start to close or go down. Remove the timing plug fromt he left side of the bike. Watch in the hole, while rotating the wheel, for the TDC mark. It is right after the front intake valve closes.
Good luck and happy riding

Answer
Reguradless if the cams are installed right or not the motor should turn over, unless the cams are so far out that the valves are hitting the pistons. I would suspect that your wiring is not tight or have a bad ground causing the starter motor to drag.
