Motorcycle Repair: Honda stalling after prolonged use, loose wire, 3 wheeler

Question
Thanks for your reply yesterday on my kawa ex500 question; very helpful. I have recently started exploring off-road action with a 1981 honda 185 3 wheeler I bought. When I ride it after a couple of hours or so, I'll be in top gear and suddenly I lose power to the point where the bike stalls and stops. Then it becomes very hard to restart. It seemed to be happening after 20 minutes or so of constant high speed riding or high speed turns. I had changed the oil, plugs, cleaned the tank and put new gas. What could this be? Thanks, George.

Answer
Hi George,

The cause of the stalling and loss of power could be a loose wire, defective ignition, temporary fuel/air restriction, or other.

You or someone else will have to investigate and diagnose the cause. As always, start by getting the shop manual and following troubleshooting guide.
