Motorcycle Repair: oil in the alternator cover, honda cb 450, honda factory

Question
I have aquired a 1971 honda cb 450 twin k6 and when i remove the alternator cover it is full of engine oil.  I bought a clymers manual for this bike but it does not have any pictorial about if there is a seal to prevent this.  i am 69 years old and I bought this to keep myself occupied.  Any help would be appreciated.  I do not know if a honda factory manual is avalable for this machine or not

Answer
Hi Bill,

That is normal. Oil is susposed to be present in the alterator assy.
