Motorcycle Repair: put back, my engine, kawa ninja, ninja 750

Question
Hi, I have an 88 kawa ninja 750 R.  My brother dropped the bike and the gears got stuck.  I have taken the engine apart, so I can fix it up.  I took the clutch and the head out, and I split the case.  I am not a professional mechanic, but I enjoy working on cars and bikes, and I am wondering what is the best part to start with. If you have any suggestions, I would really appreciate hearing from you.

Mark:  You're gonna ned the Service/Repair Manual. You'll need to make precision measurements of parts to inspect them for damages. The service manual explains and illustrates all necessary procedures.
