Motorcycle Repair: Compression Limiter, bill silver, kickstarter

Is there a diagnostic test to check the compression limiter, or do I have to remove the motor and visually inspect it?

Jeff, you didn't say what kind of bike you have and the word compression limiter is open to some speculation.

Is this a decompression device for a single cylinder bike?
Some are automatic, linked with the kickstarter and others are manual that you engage with a lever.

If the lever moves back and forth, then it is probably okay. Do you have a no compression condition? Could be that or something else.....

Not much info to go on...
