Motorcycle Repair: S&S SUPER E CARB, air fuel mixture, air fuel mixture screw

MIKE I PUT A S&S SUPER E CARB ON MY 81FXB NOW I CANT PASS EMISSIONS. CAN YOU GIVE ME ADVISE ON PROPER AJUSTMENT ENGINE IS STOCK 1000 MILES ON FULL ENGINE REBUILD THANKS

Answer
First screw in the pumper screw to turn it off. Now start the bike and let it warm up. Now slowly turn in the air/fuel mixture screw just until the bike starts to stumble. When it does, turn it out 1/4 turn.
Now go for a ride. Slowly go through the gears and keeping it under 3000 RPM. If the bike stumbles, like its gas starved, go to the next bigger intermediate jet. If it spits and coughs, like it getting to much gas, got to the next bigger jet. Everytime you change jets, make sure you readjust the air/fuel mixture screw like I said above.
Now to the main jet. Go for a ride. Ride a little hard. You want to wind it out and keep it over 3000 RPM. If it stumbles, which it will a little between gears becuae the pumper is turned off, go to the next bigger jet. if it spits got to the next smaller jet. Make sure you readjust the air/fuel mixture after changing jets.
Now after you have the air fuel mixture, intermediate and main jet set open the pumper screw 1 turn and go for a ride.
If the bike bogs between gears open it about 1/4 of a turn. Keep doing this until you have it se.
