Motorcycle Repair: Radiator, suzuki gsx r1000, radiator leak

Question
I have a 2003 Suzuki GSX-R1000 and I got a radiator leak in the front by the front tire. I patched the leak, which is only temporary and now I need to know where the trip switch or fuse for my fan is. My bike is not leaking anymore but the fan is not cutting on. My bike got up to about 124 degrees and the fan normaly kicks on around 100 degrees.

Thank You very much...

Answer
Hi Kenneth,

I haven't had the pleasure of servicing any GSX-R1000's in my shop and I don't have the service manual for this model.

Best advice I can offer is to obtain the service manual and follow troubleshooting and testing procedures for thermo-switch and temperature sensor.

Anytime you open the cooling system, air enters the system. Air lowers boiling temperature of coolant. It is important to purge air from the system using a test/purge tool. I recommend MityVac's "AirEvac" tool. You can see this tool online. Local car parts stores loan and rent such tools.

Sorry that I'm not much help on this matter.
