Motorcycle Repair: stator kx125 1995, fly wheel, line troubleshooting

Question
I am working on a KX125 (1995) we checked the stator out with the ohm meter and the readings were off we then tried to save money by buying
solder on stators and the bike ran great but we had trouble with the wires hitting the fly wheel and opted for buying a new unit from Kawasaki ( this comes as one unit, plate and stator with harnest). the bike would not start and  we check it out and the red and white wire should read 14-21 ohms but has no reading at all, all other test on the stator come out ok, could this be a new defective part
and what does the red and white wire on the stator supply? The coil ohms check out fine we did have a old igniter and replaced it just to try we are getting fuel everthing looks good. help

Answer
Hi Jim,

The part may be defective new from the factory. You might try returning it, but they may charge a fee or there may be a electrical parts return policy.

Without seeing the part, I suspect the red and white wires are the output wires.

Visit "www.electrexusa.com" for quality electric parts. The manufacturer of these parts holds much higher quality and production standards compared with OEM or factory parts. Electrex USA also has a good on-line troubleshooting chart.
