Motorcycle Repair: carb adjustments, carb adjustments, xr80r

Hey, Chris my 86' XR80R is dying on me at idle. Runs great when riding. I found heavy deposits of varnish in the carb, cleaned out the best I could with "Gumout" spray, still dying on me..What are the float settings along with how many turns on the two needle valves? Or what are your suggestions. Thanks!

Hi Gary.
 Fact of the matter is, the Gumout is good for routine maintance cleaning on the carb, it is almost useless when there are heavy deposits in the carb.

 You need to pull and properly clean the carb.  After that it should work properly.
