hi chris i have taken an old honda 185 3 wheeler motor and put it onto a gocart the engine ran perfectly in the 3 wheeler, but now in the gocart with and without the air box the engine is very rich and hi reving at idle and fluctuates high and low at full throttle with no power. please help i need it for childrens christmas gift. thank you. jeff kwick

Hi Jeff.
 If the motor wasn't changed as far as settings and such, then the problem may be in the application area.  It could have problems with the difference in power requirements between the original use and the new application.

 The rich running could also be related to the intake and exhaust manifolds.  The connections could be loose or poorly seated.  The carbs could also be loose or improperly seated in the manifolds.  If the fuel tank is not located above the engine, then you need a properly set up fuel pump assembly as it could be related to fuel supply.

Start with that.
