Motorcycle Repair: GSXR600, dial caliper, celcuis

Question
Hi I've just bought a 1997 gsxr600 and I've seen the oil temp get up to 105 degree celcuis is the normal and just another quick one when I pull on the front brakes at speeds over about 100kmh the front seems to shutter abit the pads are good
any help with these would be great
thanks Mal

Answer
Hi Malcom,

The oil temperature should be fine.

Check for uneven brake pad wear.

To measure disc wear and warpage, special tools are needed; dial indicator, dial caliper, etc..

Does the brake lever pulsate? IF so, discs are warped,

Has the front suspension been serviced, leak, or been modified to your knowledge?

Is a steering dampner installed?
