Motorcycle Repair: CYLINDERHEADS, fz 750, cam profiles

HELLO MARK
   I HAVE 2 FZR'S ONE IS A 1000CC GENESIS 1988 E-REG YAMAHA & A 750CC GENESIS 1989 D-REG IMPORT NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE FZ 750 UK MODEL.  
    BOTH OFF ROAD DUE TO SEPERATE PROBLEMS, MY QUESTION TO YOU IS WOULD THE CYLINDERHEAD FROM THE 750 IMPORT FIT & WORK ON THE 1000CC,THEY ARE BOTH YAMAHA GENESIS MODELS & LOOK SIMILAR?

Hi Bikernut,

I don't know the differences between these model engines (I don't have import specs). Not sure how cam profiles of European differ from USA spec'd MC's.

If it were in my hands, I would make comparision measurements of all parts. It's likely they will match up with little troubles, if any.

In any case, I recommend having the heads inspected by a local machinist. Machinist will check for warping and other needed repairs.
