Motorcycle Repair: ducati exhaust, ducati 907, leeds england

Hi Chris
I own a Ducati 907 ie (1992 model) and I'm thinking about purchasing a slip on exhaust replacement.At present, it has the original suplied by Ducati. But I was wondering, bearing in mind the likely cost could I have the exisiting exhaust changed in some way to improve the sound and possibly performance. I guess not but I thought I'd ask for your opinion.

Hi Lindsay.
 There are a number of aftermarket exhaust systems out there, so you need to check around for the one that will work best on your bike.

 As far as improving performance, that will not be achieved through replacement of the exhaust.  Increased performance requires retuning of the engine.  This may include, but will not be limited to, changing the timing, valves/valve gap, mixture, pistons, cams and exhaust.

 Needless to say, it is no small job.
