Motorcycle Repair: Vacuum hose and Fuel Lines, ron kleeman, vacuum hose

Question
Hi Christopher

I have a question concerning a bike that i recently purchased.  It is a used bike not sure what model but it is a 125cc bike.  The bike had its engine seperated when i purchased it and now im not sure where some of the hoses go.  There are a total of 2 hoses.  One comes from under the carberator and is about 1/4" in diameter.  The other comes out from the engine and is about 1/2" in diameter.  There is no hose coming from the gas tank so im am pretty confused of where to connect these hoses. I believe the 1/2" hose goes into the gas tank but is unsure.  And ideas?  I appreciate your time.  Thank you!

Answer
Hi Ron.
On the steering head, there is an identiplate or an engraved ID number.  There should also be a manufacturer name there as well.  If not there, then somewhere on the bike there should be some major parts that will have the make embossed on it.

With that information and the engine size, go to the dealership and order the repair manual.  That will have complete specs, diagrams, etc. that you need to route those hoses correctly.

Good luck.
