Motorcycle Repair: Oil Level, intelligent answer, oil level

Question
Hello Johnny, I can let the bike sit over night and it still the oil level read over full Hot level. I've even gone as far as to measure the oil when I drained it. The bike had 1300+ miles on this oil & filter change and   (2-1/3qts) is what came out. I also measured the oil from the oil change before this one with the same results. It uses a little oil that I'm not concerned, I just don't want to fry my motor. Thank You

I've owned the bike since 1999 an have always changed the oil & filter myself. Until these last 2 oil & filter changes everything seemed fine. OK! Before when I changed the oil & filter, I would run the engine to get oil into the filter and then check the oil level. Which would read just below the Full COLD level on the dip stick. To make a long story short. Now it's reading over Full HOT level after running it after an oil & filter change. Whats changed? Pump going bad, relief valve sticking, can't seem to get an intelligent answer from the dealers. HELP!
Answer -
let the oil drain for 10 to 15 min's. There is a baffle in the oil pan that takes more time to drain then a bike like a softail.  Johnny

when you drain your oil only put 3 qts in with new filter and then ride the bike. After a 5 to 10 mile ride. Shut bike off and check oil. add if it needs any. You will not fry your motor with too much oil, You could run the bike on 1 qt of oil and not hert it. But the proper level is the way to go.  Johnny
