Motorcycle Repair: Stuck swinging arm, driving axle, penetrating oil

Question
I am unable to remove the long bolt holding the swinging arm on my 1977 RM250B Suzuki. I have removed the shocks and removed the nut attached to the bolt but the bolt refuses to come out. I have put a socket and ratchet on the head of the bolt and it will turn with some nudging but will not come out. I have tried driving it out and it just won't move. Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Mike,

Apply penetrating oil and allow time for it to work on the parts. Use a heavier hammer when attempting driving axle through (I know.... "use a bigger hammer") this is the exception.

Heat may ease removal. Disclaimer: Use at your own risk as fire and death may result with careless use.
