Motorcycle Repair: Instaling Tach, yamaha 1100, fuse box

I am installing a tach in a 2004 Yamaha 1100 Silverado.I have to locate the coil, which I presume is under the gas tank. I need instructions on the tank removal etc. What is the best location to connect to the light wire for the tach ?

Hi Norm, I dont even know yamaha made a siverado I thought chevy did? The light wire for the tach should go to a a wire that powers up with the key on only, use your test light to find a suitable lead near the fuse box.
