I have a leak out of the transmission on the main shaft. I removed the inner primary cover and replaced the 2 seals and o ring. My question is the nut holding the pulley on the main shaft threaded in the same manner as the nut holding the clutch basket to the main shaft. and how many seals will need to be replaced main shaft into the transmission.
I removed the pulley, and found the leak to be on the oil seal around the mainshaft. My problem is there is a spacer on the mainshaft in front of the seal that will not slide off.  Can you help? Thanks

Answer
that sleeve is the bearing support for the inner primary. To get at the Main Drive Gear seal that will have to be removed. JIMS makes a special tool for removing the bearing support sleeve. With out this tool It can not be done> There is also a tool ti press it back on and it has to be .200" from the end of the main drive gear so that you can put the removel tool on it to remove it in the future.
