Motorcycle Repair: brake light remains on, brake master cylinder, sportster 1200

Question
I recently replaced the hand grips on my 2005 sportster 1200 C.
the installation was relatively easy, but now my brake light
remains on.  The brake handle appears to be making contact
with the switch but doesn't have enough travel to completely
depress/engage the switch to turn the brake light off.  A friend
of mine is experiencing the same problem.  Do you have any
idea what it's going take to fix this?

Answer
loosen up the switch housing and pull in the brake lever and then Push the switch housing up tight next to the brake master cylinder perch. Release front break lever and keep the pressure on the switch housing towards the master cylinder perch and tighten up the screws on the switch housing. Do this with the key on and as you push the switch housing up againts the brake perch you will see the brake lite go off.  JOHNNY
