Motorcycle Repair: 89 YZ80 Ignition dead, coil resistance, pickup coil

Question
My son's YZ80 quit starting. No Spark. I ohmed out the coil. I found 1 Megaohm of resistance in the secondary coil. I measured it again and it opened right up. I bought a new coil. still no spark. I measured the magneto pickup coil resistance and the source coil. They were 10 ohms
and 500 ohms respectively. The black wire on the source coil is shorted to ground. I assume this is normal.Kick starting the motor provides about 13Vac on the source coil and about .3Vac on the pickup coil. Are these Magneto conditions normal and is there any other checks I can do to rule out the magneto before I order the expensive CDI module?
Thanks,
Grant

Answer
Dear sir,

Is inpossible to see i megaohm in the secondary coil..usually u see 10-30kiloohms.well you need a pickvoltage meter so you can check if there is any voltage on the primary leads of your coil.while you crank it you must 100vac-300vac.Also check voltage drom at your cdi box.i think is the black wire.let me know whar are you going to do
